Accessibility Statement

Effective date: October 31, 2025
Last updated: October 31, 2025

Shades of Nature is committed to making our website, online store, and digital content accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We aim to align our site with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, which is the generally recognized standard for accessible websites.

We know accessibility is not a one-and-done project — it’s an ongoing effort as we add new products, blog posts, trip pages, photos, and videos.

Our accessibility goals

We are working toward:

  • Designing and building in line with WCAG 2.2 AA
  • Testing pages and components regularly
  • Fixing issues quickly when they are reported to us
  • Training our team to create accessible content going forward

What we’re actively doing (quick wins)

To improve the user experience for everyone, we are committing to:

  1. Alt text on images – adding meaningful alternative text to images and trip photos where possible.
  2. Keyboard navigation – ensuring core parts of the site (navigation, forms, cart/checkout) can be accessed with a keyboard.
  3. Color contrast – using color combinations that meet contrast guidelines for text and buttons.
  4. Form labels & errors – making sure forms (trip signups, newsletter, checkout) have clear labels and error messages.
  5. Captions/transcripts for video where feasible – adding captions or summaries to key video content, especially on trip and product pages.

Third-party content

Our site may use third-party platforms or embeds (for example: booking tools, maps, videos, or social media feeds). We can’t always control how those services handle accessibility, but we will choose accessible options when available and provide alternate ways to reach the same information.

Having trouble using the site?

Ongoing improvements

We review this statement at least annually and whenever we launch major new features, campaigns, or trip pages. As our website grows, we will continue to improve accessibility across images, video, forms, and navigation.
